Pune: Price of CNG increased by Rs 1.55 per kg

Pune, January 4, 2021: The prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) also known as a clean fuel and more profitable than petrol-diesel have risen. The price has increased by 1.55 rupees per kg from midnight on Sunday. According to the new rate, the price of CNG will now be Rs 55.50 per kg.

Petrol and Diesel prices have risen more than before. So the Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) has decided to increase the price of CNG (Compressed Natural) gas in 55 cities by 1.55 rupees. In the city limits, the price of the CNG gas was Rs 53.15 per kg. But due to the increase in the rate now the CNG will cost Rs 55.50 per kg. More than 1.80 lakh citizens use CNG vehicles.

Santosh Sontakke, Commercial Head, Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited, said, “The price of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for domestic use has not been increased. Businesses have slowed down during the lockdown, as the expenditure is more and income is less. As a result, the price of CNG has gone up.”
