Pune : Posters With Israel Flags Found On Roads In Nana Peth and Bhavani Peth Areas, Two Cases Registered

Pune 21st Oct 2023: The Pune City Police have registered two different cases for allegedly putting posters having Israel flags on roads in the Nana Peth and Bhavani Peth areas. Three identified individuals have been booked in one such case registered at Samarth Police Station while a case against unidentified people has been registered at Khadak Police Station.

In one such case reported in the Nana Peth area on Friday, the police and the police officials of the Samarth Police Station were informed about the posters having Israel flags on roads. The controversial posters were placed in the New Nana Peth and Inmadar Chowk areas. The police team swiftly acted on the matter considering the seriousness and three individuals were booked. According to sources, the posters were installed with ill intention and that could cause further tension between the two communities in the city. A case under sections 153 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Samarth Police Station following a suo moto FIR registered by the police officials. Further investigation in the matter is underway.

In another case registered at Khadak Police Station, the posters bearing the Israel flag were spotted on Mahatma Phule Road in Bhavani Peth area at around 11:45 pm on Friday. The police team swiftly responded to the complaint and a case under sections 153 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered. The senior officers from the city police visited both places to assess the situation and they have launched further investigation in the matter.
