Pune Porsche Case: Minor Driver’s Father and Grandfather Granted Bail

Pune, 2nd July 2024: The Pune district court has granted bail to Vishal Agarwal and Surendra Agarwal, the father and grandfather of the minor driver accused of mowing down two IT professionals with his speeding Porsche.

Adv Prashant Patil stated, “My clients, Vishal Agarwal and Surendrakumar Agarwal, have been granted bail by the court at Pune. They shall cooperate with the investigation agency for the investigation of the matter and shall abide by the stringent conditions of the court.”

The incident occurred around 2:30 am on May 19 in Kalyani Nagar. The minor driver, under the influence of alcohol, hit the bike of IT professionals Ashwini Koshta and Aneesh Awadhiya. The boy was initially detained and granted bail on the same day before being detained again after Pune police appealed following national outrage.

Later, his father was arrested for allowing the minor to drink alcohol and drive the vehicle without a license. His grandfather is accused of intimidating and abducting their family driver to coerce him into taking the blame for driving the Porsche at the time of the accident. They are also accused of tampering with blood samples at Sassoon Hospital with the help of doctors.
