Pune, May 6th, 2024: In the Kalyani Nagar incident in Pune, a drunk minor was involved in a speeding accident that resulted in the deaths of two young individuals. However, to evade prosecution for driving under the influence (DUI), his blood sample was allegedly swapped by staff at Sassoon Hospital. Instead of the minor’s blood, his mother, Shivani Agarwal’s blood, was used for the sample.

During her court hearing on Wednesday, Shivani Agarwal raised concerns about the unsanitary conditions of her detention at Faraskhana Police Station. In response, the judge advised her to file a complaint through her lawyer. The court has decided to extend the police custody of both Shivani Agarwal and Vishal Agarwal, the parents of the minor driver, until June 10.

In connection with the blood sample tampering case, Dr. Ajay Taware, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and peon Atul Ghatkamble from Sassoon Hospital have been arrested by the police.
