Pune Porsche Accident: Parents of Deceased IT Engineers Meet CM Shinde, Receive Assurance of Swift Justice

Mumbai/Pune, 24th June 2024: The parents of deceased IT engineers Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, who tragically lost their lives in a Porsche accident in Pune, met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today in Mumbai.

The Chief Minister assured them that the case would be expedited to ensure strict action against the culprits. Additionally, he announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of the deceased.

Aneesh Awadhiya (24) and Ashwini Koshta (24), both from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, died on May 19 when a speeding Porsche driven by a minor struck their bike from behind. The fatal incident occurred around 2:30 am in Kalyani Nagar. The police have detained the minor driver and arrested his parents, grandfather, and the owners and staff of the pubs where the minor consumed alcohol.

Omprakash Awadhiya, father of Aneesh, and Suresh Koshta, father of Ashwini, met with Chief Minister Shinde at his Varsha residence today. During the meeting, Shinde expressed his condolences and reiterated his commitment to ensuring justice. He clarified that despite the minor being released on bail immediately, comprehensive action has been taken against all those involved.

Shinde emphasized that the government would make every effort to fast-track the trial and ensure that the culprits are brought to justice swiftly.

Following this tragic incident, the Chief Minister directed Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to take stringent action against the culprits, ensuring that no one is spared. The families acknowledged the swift investigation and the arrests made, expressing their gratitude to Chief Minister Shinde for his support and the Maharashtra government’s efforts to secure justice for their children.
