Pune Porsche Accident Case: Minor’s Mother And Father Remanded In Police Custody Over Blood Sample Tampering

Pune, 2nd June 2024: A special court on Sunday ordered builder Vishal Agarwal and his wife Shivani to be remanded in police custody until June 5 in connection with the Kalyaninagar Porsche accident case. The couple is accused of tampering with a blood sample to protect their minor child and attempting to destroy evidence.

Two IT professionals died in the accident on May 19, when a Porsche car driven by the minor hit their motorcycle from behind.

The Crime Branch arrested Vishal Surendra Agarwal and Shivani, both residents of Vadgaon Sheri, for allegedly altering blood samples at Sassoon Hospital. They were produced in a holiday court on Sunday afternoon.

The police investigation revealed that Shivani provided her own blood sample for testing instead of their child’s. Further investigation exposed Vishal’s involvement in the tampering. Dr. Ajay Taware, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and peon Atul Ghatakamble at the Sassoon Hospital were also arrested in connection with the case. The public prosecutor requested police custody to conduct a thorough investigation, which the court granted, ordering the Agarwal couple to remain in custody until June 5.

The Juvenile Justice Board has ordered the minor involved in the Kalyaninagar accident case to be held in an observation home until June 5. Vishal Agarwal, his wife Shivani, and his father Surendra have all been arrested in this case. Following the accident, Agarwal allegedly attempted to kidnap his driver, Gangadhar Herikrub. Vishal and Surendra were arrested for this crime and have been remanded in judicial custody.

Vishal Agarwal and the pub owners submitted a bail application to the court, with the police providing their statement on Saturday, June 1. The hearing for the accused’s bail application is scheduled for June 5.
