Pune, 3rd July 2024: Indian National Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, made a statement in the Parliament.

Following this, various Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders across the country have taken an aggressive stance on the issue, including in Pune. BJP Pune City president Dheeraj Ghate has put up flex banners in various places featuring a photo of Swami Vivekananda and a quote that says, “If you criticize Hinduism, we will throw you into the sea.”

When Congress Pune City president Arvind Shinde was asked about this, he responded, “The BJP City president himself always roams with police security. Ask him about his behaviour. Can he move around alone? No, he cannot.”

Replying to Ghate, Shinde further said, “You don’t know when you will die because your deeds are such. That is why you need police security, and karma will hit you back.”
