Pune: Policeman Dragged On Car Bonnet For 800 Meters When Asked To Stop

Nigdi, 27th August 2022: A policeman signalled a car running without a number plate to stop it, but the car did not stop. On the other hand, the car dragged him for 800 meters.
This incident took place on Friday (August 26) around 5:30 pm at Khandoba Mal Chowk in Nigdi on Nigdi-Pune road.
Policeman Devram Pardhi (36), a resident of Charholi filed a complaint with Nigdi police station against arrested Bharat Tukaram Jaid (28), a resident of Chimbli Phata, Khed in this regard. Jaid has been arrested.
According to the police, when Pardhi was on his duty at Khandoba Mal Chowk, the accused was seen speeding his white-coloured Swift through the Thermax Chowk. On noticing that the car had no number plate and the glass also had a black coating, the complainant signalled the car to stop with his hand.

At this time the accused tried to drive the car over the body of the complainant without stopping the car. In this, when the complainant fell on the bonnet of the car, the accused did not stop the car, on the contrary, he dragged the policeman on the car for 800 meters.
This time, with the help of other policemen and citizens, a major incident was averted by stopping the car. Nigdi police have arrested the accused and the police are conducting further investigation.
