Pune Police to Re-Question Minor Accused in Kalyani Nagar Porsche Incident

Pune, 13th June 2024: In a significant update regarding Pune’s Kalyani Nagar Porsche incident, the minor accused will be re-interrogated by the Pune Police. Currently held at the Remand Home for Boys, the accused had previously given vague answers during the initial interrogation, prompting the Pune Crime Branch officials to question him again.

Yesterday, the minor appeared before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), which granted a 14-day extension at the request of the Pune Police, keeping him in the Remand Home until 25th June. The re-interrogation aims to clarify the details of the incident.

On 19th May, the minor, reportedly drunk and speeding in a Porsche, collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the immediate deaths of two young IT engineers. Following attempts to protect the minor illegally, Pune Police arrested his parents, Shivani and Vishal Agarwal, his grandfather, Surendra Kumar Agarwal, and Sassoon Hospital staff members Dr. Ajay Taware, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and peon Atul Ghatkamble. Additionally, employees and owners of the pubs that served alcohol to the minor accused before the incident were also arrested.
