Pune, 18th July 2024: Probationary Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Pooja Khedkar has lodged a complaint of harassment against Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase. The case, initially registered with the Washim Police, has been transferred to the Pune Police, who are now leading the investigation. Consequently, the Pune Police have issued a summons for Khedkar to come to Pune and provide a statement.

Khedkar, who was initially posted as a trainee IAS officer in the Pune Collector’s Office, alleged that she was harassed by Collector Diwase during her tenure. Following her complaint to the Washim Police, the case was transferred to Pune Police since the incident occurred in Pune. A team from Washim Police facilitated this transfer, and the Pune Police are now handling the investigation.

On Monday, 15th July, Khedkar was questioned by the Washim Police, during which she reiterated her allegations against Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase.

The controversy also includes accusations against Khedkar for using a red beacon light on a private luxury Audi car, displaying ‘Maharashtra Government,’ taking a separate hall for meetings, and hiring staff, actions seen as inappropriate for a trainee officer. Officials from the Pune Collector’s Office had filed a complaint about her behavior, prompting Collector Dr. Diwase to report her conduct to the Maharashtra State Government, which resulted in her transfer to Washim.
