Pune Police Seize Cocaine Worth Rs 24 Lakhs from Tanzanian Drug Smuggler
Pune, 16th February 2023: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Pune Crime Branch arrested a Tanzanian drug smuggler, James Darlington Laimo, who had been evading arrest for two and a half years.
The arrest was made at Jadhav Nagar, where Laimo had been staying for a few days. He is a resident of Handewadi, Pune, and is originally from Tanzania. An FIR has been lodged against him at the Loni Kalbhor Police Station.
The police had received information that Laimo was residing in Jadhav Nagar after hiding in Delhi for a few days. Upon receiving this intelligence, the police conducted a raid, resulting in Laimo’s arrest. The police also confiscated an inventory containing 116 grams of cocaine, valued at Rs 24 lakhs.
