Pune Police Seize 5 kg Gold From Drugs Dealer Lalit Patil; 3 kg Gold Seized From His Brother’s House

Pune, 3rd November 2023: An ongoing investigation has uncovered that Lalit Patil and his brother, Bhushan, utilized funds obtained from the sale of mephedrone to invest in gold and land. Pune Police have recently confiscated 5 kilograms of gold from Lalit, while a previous raid at Bhushan’s residence in Nashik resulted in the seizure of 3 kilograms of gold.

In connection with the drug sale case, a case has been registered against Lalit and 14 other individuals. Thus far, law enforcement has arrested 11 suspects linked to this case. Three individuals—Lalit’s associates Samadhan Babaji Kamble (residing in Nashik), Imran Sheikh, also known as Aamir Khan (from Dharavi, Mumbai), and Harish Pant (from Mumbai)—are currently evading arrest.

Lalit Patil had been detained and held at Yerawada Jail after being apprehended for the possession of mephedrone in Chakan. Subsequently, he was admitted to Sassoon Hospital for medical treatment while in custody.

It has come to light that Lalit and his partner were involved in the production of mephedrone. They operated from a factory established under the name “Shree Ganeshaya Industries” in Shinde village in Nashik District. The operation was responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of mephedrone, prompting a comprehensive investigation by authorities.
