Pune Police Reshuffles Two DCPs And 15 Senior Police Inspectors In Preparation For Lok Sabha Elections

Pune, 13th January 2024: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the responsibilities of police officers in the city have been reallocated. Guidelines from the Election Commission and the Office of the Director General of Police have prompted the transfer of two deputy commissioners of police within the city and 15 police inspectors.

Vijay Kumar, the deputy commissioner of police in the traffic branch, has been reassigned to the position of deputy commissioner of Zone Four. Simultaneously, Shashikant Borate, DCP (Zone Four), has been designated as the DCP of the Traffic Branch.

Police Commissioner Retesh Kumar issued orders to implement these changes.

The list of transferred Senior Police Inspectors, along with their new assignments, is as follows:

2. Kanchan Mohan Jadhav (From Police Inspector (Crime), Yerawada Police Station to Senior Police Inspector, Vishrantwadi Police Station)
3. Vijay Raghunath Puranik (From Police Inspector (Crime) Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station to Police Inspector Traffic Branch)
4. Anita Ramchandra Hivarkar (From Police Inspector (Crime) Faraskhana Police Station to Police Inspector Crime Branch Anti-Narcotics Squad-1)
5. Sunil Gajanan Thopete (From Police Inspector Crime Branch, Anti-Narcotics Squad I to Control Room)

Additionally, the Police Inspectors (Crime) at Lashkar and Bundagarden Police Station will temporarily hold additional charge as Senior Police Inspector of the said Police Station until further orders.
