Pune Police Releases Google Map Link For Road Diversion, Live Tracking Of Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhis 2024

Pune, 29th June 2024: Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhis are set to enter Pune City Police jurisdiction from 30th June (Sunday) onward. As the warkaris enter Pune city singing, dancing, chanting and moving forward in Dindis (a group of Warkaris), thousands of Pune Police Personnel will be deployed to ensure it moves seamlessly and reaches its destination as per its schedule. 

Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palkhi will arrive at Bopkhel phata via Alandi Road. The palanquin will then proceed to Phulenagar for lunch and rest at Sangamwadi, travel via University Road, FC Road before finally reaching the Shri Palkhi Vithoba Mandir in Bhawani Peth for a stay. The total route covered will be approximately 16 km.

Simultaneously, on the same day, Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s palanquin will enter Khadki in Pune City Police Commissionerate at Harris Bridge, travel via the old Mumbai-Pune Highway, Wakdewadi, and rest at Tukaram Paduka Chowk on FC Road. The procession will then continue to Nivdungya Vithoba Mandir in Nana Peth for a stay, covering a total route of 11 km.

Both palanquins will stay in Pune city on July 1st (Monday).

On July 2, Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s palanquin will depart from the place of stay (Vithoba Mandir in Bhawani Peth) and proceed towards Hadapsar via Solapur Road. The procession will take a rest at Hadapsar Gadital before continuing its journey to Saswad, passing through Dive Ghat. The total distance covered will be 21 km. On the same day, Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s palanquin will also leave the place of stay (Nivdungya Vithoba Mandir in Nana Peth), rest at Hadapsar Gadital, and stay at Loni Kalbhor. The total route for this palanquin will be 16 km.

Finally, on July 3, Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s palanquin will depart from the place of stay and travel from Kunjarwadi to Urulikanchan Khedkar Mala, ending its journey at Yawat in Pune Rural police jurisdiction, covering a total route of 12 km.

Similar to last year, this year too, Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s palanquin can be tracked through the Pune City Police’s website (diversion.punepolice.gov.in) and social media platforms, providing live location updates for citizens.

Information regarding road closures, traffic diversions, and directions during the palanquin’s arrival, stay, and departure in Pune will be available through the above link for citizens and on social media.

To assist citizens, rest areas have been designated along the Palkhi route, and police help centres have been established at the place of stay.

The details regarding road closures and diversions during the palkhi processions in Pune:

Until the arrival of Sant Tukaram Palkhi at Bopodi Chowk via old Mumbai-Pune highway from Pimpri Chinchwad-

Closed route: Bopodi Chowk to Khadki Bazar (Sunday 2 am till late night). 

Alternative route: Utilize the internal road via Church Chowk.

Until Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi reaches College of Engineering Pune (COEP) Chowk:

Closed route: Old Mumbai-Pune Road will be closed for incoming vehicles to Pune. Alternative route: Bhau Patil Road, Aundh Road, Bremen Chowk.

For RTO to Engineering College Chowk:

Alternative routes: Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk (Juna Bazaar Chowk) and Kumbhar Ves, or Jehangir Chowk and Ambedkar Setu.

Upon the arrival of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi:

Closed route: Kalas Phata to Bopkhel Phata on Alandi Road. Alternative route: Utilize Dhanori Road and internal routes. 

Closed route: Mental Hospital Corner to Alandi Junction. Alternative route: Jail Road and Airport Road. 

Closed route: Sadalbaba Chowk to Patil Estate. Alternative route: Parnakuti Chowk to Garrison Engineer Chowk.

Traffic arrangements for the joint passage of both palkhis after their convergence near Wakdewadi/COEP Chowk. These changes will be implemented from 12 pm on Sunday.

Closed route: Range Hill Chowk to Sancheti Chowk. Alternative route: Khadki Underpass and Poultry Farm Chowk. 

Closed route: Khandoji Baba to Veer Chaphekar Chowk. Alternative route: Karve Road and Senapati Bapat Road.

Both the Palkhis will travel via Wakdewadi, Sancheti Hospital Chowk, Agriculture College Chowk (Veer Chaphekar Chowk), FC Road. Both Palkhis will crossover to Peth areas via Laxmi Road and stay in Nana Peth and Bhawani Peth. They will leave on July 2 (Tuesday) early morning.

Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, considering the road closures and diversions in place during the palkhi processions. The Pune city police are committed to ensuring a smooth and safe experience for both the devotees and the general public during this religious event.
