Pune Police Raid 'Area 37 Club', Six Persons Booked For Gambling

Kondhwa, 24th March 2022: The Crime Branch of Pune City Police raided busted a gambling den at Area 37 Club in Lulla Nagar and confiscated property worth Rs 2.5 lakh. An FIR has been registered against six persons in this regard.

The operation was carried out on Wednesday (March 23) at Area 37 Club on Bibwewadi-Kondhwa Road.

Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch’s Social Security Cell raided the club and caught following persons red-handed while playing teen-patti card game:
Ramanlal Sogmalji Porwal of Market Yard
Subhash Dipchand Tekwani of Bhavani Peth
Kishore Mithalal Jain of Gangadham Chowk
Rakesh Arun Kondhe

A case has been registered against hotel supervisor Sunil Hemraj Mundada of Raviwar Peth, Yatin Dinesh Shah of Shukrawar Peth under Section 4 (A), 5 of the Gambling Prevention Act.

Police received information that there are people who are playing gambling at the Area 37 Club in Lulla Nagar on Bibwewadi-Kondhwa Road. Based on the information, the police raided the Area 37 Club.

During the operation, police seized gambling materials worth Rs 87,000, plastic coins, mobile phones worth Rs 1 lakh 36 thousand 440, and cash worth Rs 23 thousand 440; totally worth Rs 2 lakh 46 thousand 880.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Srinivas Ghadge. The team included Senior Inspector Rajesh Puranik, Sub-Inspector Shridhar Khadke, Supriya Pandharkar and their team members.
