Pune: Police Foil Plan To Loot Petrol Pump on Lohegaon-Wagholi Road, Five Arrested
Pune 8th July 2023: The Sleuths of Vimantal Police Station have arrested five people and foiled their plan to loot a petrol pump located on Lohegaon-Wagholi Road. The accused were arrested from Lohegaon by the police team on Thursday.
According to police, they had received an input about some men hiding on the Forest Park-Lohegaon road. The accused had weapons in their possession. Accordingly the police team laid a trap and five accused identifed as Umesh Ram Gaikwad (30), Suryakant Dhondiba Rasge (42), Santosh Haridas Gaikwad (37), Nitin Shankar Jadhav (29) and Shekhar Sitaram Gaikwad (58) were arrested.
Four of the arrested accused are the residents of Mundhwa while one is a resident of Hadapsar. During the investigation, the accused confessed that they were planning to loot Indian Oil Petrol Pump located on Lohegaon-Wagholi Road.
A case under section 399 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Vimantal Police Station and police are investigating further in the matter.
