Pune Police File Case Over 17-Year-Old’s Death by Electric Shock While Installing Flex in Hadapsar

Hadapsar, 30th August 2024: A case has been filed by the police in connection with the death of a 17-year-old youth, Devaram Natharam Ghanchi, due to an electric shock while installing flex. The deceased’s father, Natharam Ghanchi (40, resident of Thane, native of Rajasthan), filed a complaint at Hadapsar Police Station. A case has been registered against Tejaram alias Ajay Mali and Harish Parihar for their alleged responsibility in the incident.

The incident occurred on 18th February 2024, near Tulsi Textiles shop in Manjari. According to the police, Devaram Ghanchi was working for Tejaram Mali at Diamond Printing in Manjari, preparing flex. On 18th February, Devaram and his colleague, Indranath Rawal, went to Tulsi Textiles to install the flex. A high-voltage power line was exposed at the location. The accused had directed Devaram to apply the flex, during which he received a severe electric shock from the high-pressure line and later passed away in the hospital.

Following the complaint by Devaram’s father, the police conducted an investigation and registered a case against both Tejaram Mali and Harish Parihar for their alleged role in the accident. Assistant Police Inspector Rokade is handling the investigation.
