Pune Police File Case Against Man for False Report While Intoxicated

Pune, 30th August 2024: Pune police have registered a case against Rohit Mukesh Chavan for misleading the police control room with false information while under the influence of alcohol. Police employee Vivek Patil filed the complaint at Faraskhana Police Station. On Tuesday (27th August), Chavan, who was intoxicated, stopped in front of Kamla Nehru Hospital in Peth and contacted the Pune Police control room. He reported that 30 to 40 people armed with swords were roaming Mangalwar Peth and that his life was in danger.

The police control room promptly alerted the Faraskhana Police, who rushed to the scene. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the reported incident did not occur. Chavan has been charged with misleading the police and providing false information. Police Sub-Inspector Dukare is handling the investigation.
