Pune Police Extern Gang Involved in Petrol, and Diesel Theft from Loni Kalbhor Depot

Loni Kalbhor, 18th June 2024: Deputy Commissioner of Police R. Raja has ordered the externment of a gang involved in stealing petrol and diesel from an oil company’s depot in the Loni Kalbhor area of Pune.

The gang leader, Praveen Sidhram Madikhambe (51 years old), along with Vishal Dhanaji Dhaygude (31), Balu Arun Chaure (30), Isak Ismail Machkuri (42), Sanket Anil Shendge (39), Raju Tanaji Phawade (32), Navnath Baban Phule (31), and Atish Shashikant Kakade (31), all residents of Loni Kalbhor, have been externed.

Loni Kalbhor houses an oil company depot from where petrol and diesel are filled into tankers and distributed across Maharashtra. Madikhambe and his accomplices collaborated with tanker drivers to commit thefts of petrol and diesel. Upon receiving a proposal from the police, Deputy Commissioner R. Raja ordered the externment of Madikhambe and his associates from Pune city and district.

Praveen Madikhambe, known as the ‘Oil Mafia’ in the Loni Kalbhor area, and his group orchestrated thefts by colluding with tanker drivers transporting fuel from the depot. They have accumulated substantial assets from the proceeds of these thefts.
