Pune Police Detains Young Man For Threatening Senior NCP Leader Chhagan Bhujbal

Pune, 11th July 2023: In a significant development, the Pune Police Crime Branch has detained a young man from Kolhapur for issuing death threats to senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbal. The arrested individual has been identified as Prashant Patil, a native of Kolhapur.

According to police, Patil made contact with Bhujbal’s office, where he menacingly claimed to have got supari (contract for murder). Following the revelation of a threatening phone call made to one of Bhujbal’s colleagues, a formal complaint was filed with the police.

Bhujbal arrived in Pune on Monday (July 10), and promptly reported the menacing phone call to the Pune Police. The Anti-Extortion Squad of the Pune Police initiated an immediate investigation into the matter. Through technical analysis, it was determined that the individual responsible for the threat had been traced to the Mahad area. Consequently, the anti-extortion team proceeded to Mahad, where they nabbed Patil.

Accompanied by a police team, Patil is being brought to Pune. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Patil, under the influence of alcohol, approached Bhujbal’s office and made the death threat.
