Pune Police Constable Seema Valvi Lauded For Saving Life Of Youth During Koyta Attack In Vadgaonsheri

Pune, 30th December 2023: In a display of remarkable bravery, Police Constable Seema Valvi of Chandan Nagar Police Station thwarted a potentially life-threatening attack on a youth by confronting armed assailants wielding Koyta weapons. Valvi’s courageous intervention not only saved the victim but also led to the apprehension of the attackers.

On the night of December 24th, Constable Seema Valvi was heading home after completing her security duties when she witnessed a confrontation unfolding on Anand Park Road in Vadgaonsheri. Observing a group of individuals engaged in a scuffle, Valvi immediately intervened by verbally confronting the assailants.

However, the situation took a violent turn when one of the attackers, armed with a Koyta, assaulted the young man. Undeterred, Valvi bravely faced the assailants, preventing further harm to the victim. Despite the presence of onlookers, Valvi stood alone against the attackers, maintaining control until additional police personnel reached the scene.

Valvi promptly informed the police control room about the incident, holding one of the assailants until backup arrived. Within 20 minutes, the police team successfully chased and detained the remaining culprits.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Anuj Jitendra Yadav (19), Harikesh Tuntun Chavan (18), and Akash Bharat Pawar (23), all residents of Anand Park, Vadgaonsheri, Amol Vasant Chorghade, and Sandesh Sudhir Kamble. A case has been registered against them at Chandannagar police station. Two individuals, Saurabh Santosh Padale (22) and Rishikesh Dhore, who sustained injuries during the attack, have been admitted to the hospital.

For her exemplary courage and dedication, Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr felicitated Constable Seema Valvi during a ceremony attended by senior officials on Friday.
