Pune Police Conducts Night Raid, Checks Over 1500 Criminals in ‘Combing Operation’

Pune, 11th January 2024: In order to maintain law and order in Pune city, the Pune Police conducted a special campaign called ‘Combing Operation’ and raided criminals in the middle of the night. During the night, the police went to check 1544 criminals and found 716 of them.

Additionally, 57 individuals were apprehended in 54 operations conducted in different areas. The local police, along with the traffic police, also inspected vehicles during the operation from 10 pm on Wednesday to 2 am on Thursday.

Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr has ordered a crackdown on criminals in the city, emphasizing strict action against them. Incidents of vehicle vandalism and assaults have been occurring periodically. To uphold law and order, the police took sudden and decisive action to investigate criminals.

Action was also taken against illegal gambling dens, clandestine hand furnaces, and other similar activities.

– The Crime Branch has registered 6 cases after busting liquor dens.
– The local police seized gambling materials in 31 cases in different areas.
– Action was taken against six wanted criminals under the Maharashtra Police Act.
– Inspection of 388 eateries, dhabas, and lodges in the city was conducted.
– Inspection of Railway Stations and ST Buses took place.
– 1,227 suspected vehicles were checked by local police stations, and fines amounting to Rs 2.32 lakhs were imposed on 304 persons.
– The traffic branch, after inspecting 999 vehicles, took penal action amounting to 2.12 lakhs against 293 persons.
