Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr’s Crackdown Against Goons Leads To 20th Action Under MCOCA

Pune, 3rd April 2023: Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr’s continued efforts to curb crime and strengthen law and order in Pune have resulted in a major crackdown against a gang terrorizing citizens under the jurisdiction of Alankar police station.

The Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) was used to take action against Abhishek Rohidas Jadhav (23), the gang’s leader, and his accomplices Tanmay Tanaji Itkar (19), Ishwar Khandulal Chavan (18), Sujal Sanjay Kadam (18), and Piyush Satish Jadhav (20). The gang had committed violent crimes such as murder, attempted murder, and kidnapping for financial gain.

The gang had chased and fatally stabbed Nandu Ananta Jadhav on February 23, after which Abhishek Jadhav formed an organized gang with new accomplices for the murder. Senior Police Inspector of Alankar Police Station Rajendra Sahane prepared an MCOCA proposal against the gang, which was presented to the Additional Commissioner of Police Rajendra Dahale. Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr took decisive action against the gang, and ACP Rajendra Galande is investigating the crime.

The action was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner Rajendra Dahale, and a team of Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Sahane, Police Inspector Sangita Patil, and Sub Inspector Saptale.

This is the 20th action taken by the police commissioner under MCOCA in Pune.
