Pune Police Ask Wine Shops, People to Follow These Guidelines Else…

Pune, May 4, 2020: After day-long crowding outside wine shops, Pune city police have instructed the wine shops to take steps for ensuring social distancing norms.

According to police, all shops are being given notice under 149 CrPC for ensuring the social distancing norm. It is duty of shop owners to maintain social distance maintenance at their shop. They should not become reason for crowding. They should adopt token system with timings. Place people outside to keep social distance. Also they should arrange hand sanitizers.

“Vehicles without pass are not allowed. For the purchase of liquor, people can go only by walk in permitted time and not on vehicles. Action will be taken if they become reason for crowding at shop”, tweeted Police Commissioner Dr. K Venkatesham.

Police also made it clear that for in situ construction work or factory in other than containment area staff cannot go in individual vehicles. The company have to take permission for dedicated vehicle carrying more number of people by applying for digital pass on punepolice.in

The state government yesterday allowed standalone wine shops to open in residential areas which are outside containment zones. The shops are allowed to open from 10 am to 6 pm. However, people began queuing up since 7 am. But the shops did not open. Finally, Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram issued order to open the wine shops in areas outside containment zones.
