Pune Police Arrest Third IPL Cricket Bookie In Last 4 Days

Pune, 30th September 2021: A bookie has been arrested by Pune city police from Sahakarnagar and recovered cash and other valuables worth Rs 51 lakh. He is the third bookie to be arrested for betting on an IPL cricket match in the last four days.

The arrested bookie has been identified as Rahul Subhash Pandey (48), a resident of Khadakmaali, Ghorpade Peth. He runs an online lottery business.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided Pandey’s residence in Hill View society in Dhankawadi. There was betting going on in the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals. Police seized a laptop, six mobile phones and cash of ₹10,000 from his house. Police have also seized screen shots and photos of books maintaining gambling records.
