Pune Police Arrest Man for Kidnapping and Molesting Woman at Bopdev Ghat

Kondhwa, 3rd October 2024: Pune Police have arrested a man for kidnapping and molesting a young woman. The victim had gone to Bopdev Ghat with her friend when the accused kidnapped her using his car and then molested her. The young woman filed a complaint at the Kondhwa Police Station. In this case, Rajekhan Karim Pathan, a 36-year-old resident of Kondhwa, has been arrested.

According to police reports, the complainant had gone to Bopdev Ghat with her friend to spend some time together. At that moment, Pathan arrived in his car, posing as an activist from a human rights organization. He claimed that couples were prohibited in the area and took photos of the young woman and her friend using her mobile phone. Threatening the complainant, the accused forced her to sit in his car. He drove to Khadi Machine Chowk in Kondhwa and stopped in a lane, where he molested the young woman. He then dropped her off near Khadi Machine Chowk and fled.

In a state of fear, the young woman immediately reported the incident to the police. The Kondhwa Police swiftly arrested the accused and are continuing their investigation.
