Pune, 5th September: PNB Housing Finance, through its CSR initiative Pehel Foundation, has made a meaningful contribution to support the Indian Army by donating 7 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances to the Northern Command.

This initiative, called ‘Sanjeevani,’ was carried out in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Pune NIBM Charitable Trust. As India marks its 78th Independence Day, this gesture highlights the nation’s gratitude toward the Armed Forces for their unwavering service and sacrifice.

The Northern Command operates in highly challenging environments such as Jammu & Kashmir, Leh, Ladakh, and Siachen, where extreme weather conditions make emergency medical responses difficult. These cutting-edge ALS ambulances will significantly enhance the Command’s ability to respond to medical emergencies, providing advanced care for injured soldiers and civilians alike. PNB Housing Finance’s effort reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting those who protect the nation.

Speaking about the initiative, Girish Kousgi, MD & CEO of PNB Housing Finance, stated, “The soldiers of the Northern Command work in some of the most difficult terrains, where immediate medical assistance is critical. Through ‘Sanjeevani,’ we aim to honor the dedication of the Indian Army and offer meaningful support. We are proud to partner with the Rotary Club of Pune NIBM Charitable Trust to improve emergency medical services in the region and ensure timely care for both soldiers and civilians.”

Rtn. Ajit Walimbe, Chairman of the Rotary Club of Pune NIBM Charitable Trust, also expressed his gratitude, saying, “It is a privilege to work with PNB Housing Finance on such a crucial initiative. These ambulances will play a vital role in providing life-saving medical care to the Northern Command’s personnel and local communities.”

The ambulances were officially handed over to the Northern Command during a ceremony attended by key representatives from PNB Housing Finance, the Indian Army, and the Rotary Club of Pune NIBM Charitable Trust.
