Pune, 14th August 2024: Some flats built by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) in Peth No. 12 have developed leakages, making the monsoons particularly challenging for residents. The residents have alleged that these issues are due to the contractors hired by PMRDA not performing their work properly. Taking serious note of this, PMRDA Commissioner Dr Yogesh Mhase has issued a notice and given a stern warning to complete the repairs within the prescribed time, as per the terms and conditions.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) – Housing For All (PMAY-HFA) scheme, a total of 4,883 flats have been built in housing projects number 1 and 2. Approximately 70% of the beneficiaries have started living in these flats. Some flat owners have complained to PMRDA about leakages in bathrooms, terraces, and toilets. In response, Dr Mhase held a review meeting with the concerned officers and directed them to expedite the repairs. However, due to the contractors’ slow progress, Dr Mhase issued a notice today and warned all the contractors. Taking cognizance of the complaints, PMRDA Commissioner Dr Yogesh Mhase has formally notified the contractor responsible for housing projects one and two, ordering them to resolve the issues within a stipulated period.
