Pune: PMPML To Start Extra Buses For Citizens On Occasion Of Alandi Yatra
Alandi, 15th November 2022: On the occasion of Kartiki Ekadashi and Sanjivan Samadhi ceremony of Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, Area Alandi, 300 buses, including route 97 and an additional 203 are being provided for Yatra from November 17 to November 23 and for four days from November 19 to November 22, bus service is being provided as per requirement. On the occasion of the pilgrimage, the existing bus stand in Alandi village is being shifted and it is being operated from Katewasti.
Reportedly, night bus service after 11.00 pm will be provided as per requirement till the dates mentioned above. Later for additional bus service (after the end of regular bus service), an additional ticket fare of Rs five will be charged over the existing ticket fare. Also, the one-day, weekly, monthly, senior citizens and other pass holders issued by the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) during the travel period, after 11.00 pm the pass cannot be used to travel on additional bus services.
Reportedly, PMPML will start buses for the yatra from Swargate, Hadapsar, Pune Station, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Nigdi, Pimpri, Chinchwad, Dehugaon, Bhosari, Rahatani stations. Citizens are requested to visit the nearby bus station for the buses.
It is necessary to provide extra bus service for the convenience of transportation of the devotees coming for the above-mentioned Alandi Yatra. This requirement is being met from the existing buses of the corporation. For this, the need will be met by reducing some buses from the existing bus services on the city bus routes.
Similarly, Route No 264 from Bhosari to Pabal and Route No 257 from Alandi to Markal on the Alandi route will remain completely closed during the yatra. However, the passengers travelling on the concerned route are requested to cooperate with PMPML.
