Pune, 5th September 2024: To accommodate passengers during the Ganesh festival, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) administration will release around 800 additional buses in two phases, along with scheduled trains. These buses will operate as ‘Yatra Specials’. However, fares for buses running after the second shift will increase by Rs 5. Additionally, the PMPML administration has stated that passes will not be valid on these buses after midnight.

This year, the PMPML has once again made special arrangements for Ganesh Utsav. Once traffic in central Pune is halted, vehicles will be diverted to alternative routes. In the first phase, 168 additional buses will run on 9th, 10th, and 16th September. Another 620 buses will operate between 11th and 15th September. Fares for the ‘Yatra Special’ buses running after the second shift will rise by Rs 5, and passes will not be accepted after midnight.

Satish Gate, Public Relations Officer of PMPML, said, “For the convenience of passengers, PMPML has arranged for extra buses on the route. Since these buses have been designated as ‘Yatra Specials’, ticket prices have been increased by Rs. 5, and passes will not be valid after midnight.”
