Pune: PMPML Increases Bus Services for Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Palkhi Ceremony

Pune, 29th June 2024: The Palkhi Ceremony of Sant Shreshta Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagatguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj attracts devotees from all over Maharashtra to the Pune district. The Palkhis depart from Alandi and Dehu, respectively. To facilitate travel for these devotees, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) administration has increased the frequency of bus trips to these destinations.

Until 30th June, 106 buses will be available from various areas like Swargate, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Bhavan, Hadapsar, Pune Railway Station, Nigdi, Bhosari, Hinjawadi, and Chinchwad to travel towards Alandi. Additionally, 30 buses will be available from Pune Station, PMC Bhavan, and Nigdi to travel towards Dehu.

On 30th June, the Palkhi Procession will depart from Alandi, and 27 buses will leave from Hadapsar, Swargate, PMC Bhavan, and Pune Railway Station starting at 2:30 AM. The Palkhi will leave Pune on 2nd July.

Arrangements have been made for devotees to travel from Mahatma Gandhi Stand to Pune Railway Station, Warje Malwadi, Kothrud Depot, Nigdi, Chinchwad, Alandi, and other areas. Bus services will also be available from Shivarkar Garden to Katraj Kondhwa and from Magarpatta to Mundhwa, Chandan Nagar, and Wagholi.

Additionally, the Dive Ghat road between Hadapsar and Saswad will be closed to traffic. Instead, buses will operate through Bopdev Ghat. An additional 60 buses have been planned to run between the Swargate, Pune Railway Station, and Hadapsar routes.
