Pune: PMPML Driver Killed By Friends, Two Arrested
Pune 16th Sept 2023: A Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) driver was killed by his friends over a dispute on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The deceased identified as Rajendra Bajirao Divekar (56), a resident of Jambhulwadi area was declared dead by the doctors.
According to police, the incident took place in the Jambhulwadi area. As per the primary information, the deceased was partying with friends and after consuming alcohol they had a verbal argument which further escalated and three accused killed the PMPML driver. The police officials from Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station were immediately rushed to the spot and based on primary information three accused identified as Somnath Ashok Kumbhar (30) and Rohit Dilip Patekar (20) were taken into custody.
A case has been registered under relevant sections and the body has been sent to postmortem. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
