Pune: PMPML Discontinues Bus Routes to Swargate Metro Station for More Frequent Services

Swargate, 10th October 2024: Pune Mahametro Rail Corporation has launched its metro service from Swargate to Pimpri, prompting the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) to revise its bus operations. In a bid to enhance connectivity and provide more frequent services to metro passengers, PMPML has decided to discontinue several bus routes to Swargate Metro Station, effective Friday, October 11, 2024.

The affected bus routes are as follows:

1. Metro Shuttle No. 13: The route from Upper Depot to Civil Court Shivajinagar will be discontinued. The average bus journey time will now increase to 30 minutes, with more frequent services provided.

2. Bus Route No. 38: The route from Dhankawadi to Na Ta Wadi will also be discontinued to Swargate Metro Station, but the service has been increased to 68 trips, offering an average frequency of 10 minutes.

3. Bus Route No. 216: The route from Bharti Vidyapeeth to Shivaji Nagar will be broken to Swargate Metro Station, with an increase to 32 trips and an average frequency of 15 minutes.

4. Bus Route No. 297: The route from Rajesh Society to Shivaji Nagar will now include a service to Swargate Metro Station, providing an average frequency of 1 hour and 30 minutes, with an increase of 6 trips.

PMPML is encouraging students, workers, employees, and women to take advantage of these enhanced bus services, aiming to facilitate seamless travel for metro passengers and improve overall transportation efficiency in the city.
