Pune: PMC’s WhatsApp Chatbot Service Gets Good Response, Over 25k Avail The Facility Every Day

Pune 8th July 2023: The WhatsApp ‘Chatbot’ service introduced by the Pune Municipal Corporation to provide various facilities to citizens has turned out to be a gamechanger for civic body as a large number of people have taken benefits using this service. According to officials, an average of 25,000 citizens are availing this facility every day to get information or avail services regarding various departments of PMC.

 

The Municipal Corporation has sent property tax bills worth approximately Rs 12 lakh to citizens through this chatbot service this year. This includes bills from 11 villages merged with the municipal corporation in 2017. Other 23 villagers that were recently merged with the civic body will also be added for citizens to avail this service from next year.

 

The municipal corporation has made the chatbot service available to citizens for addressing their concerns, complaints, providing information about nearby health services, various department-related citizen-centric information, immediate access to water supply, and other conveniences.

 

The chatbot service provides the convenience of online payment of property tax bills. Approximately 25,000 to 30,000 citizens use this facility on a daily basis. Additionally, if citizens have any doubts or queries, they are addressed accordingly.
