Pune, 3rd May 2023: Amidst the hustle and bustle of Pune, a new system has emerged, designed to cater to the four-legged friends who hold a special place in the hearts of many. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has recently launched an online registration system for pets, aimed at simplifying the process for pet owners to register their beloved companions.

The Chief Veterinary Officer of the PMC, Dr. Sarika Funde, expressed her elation towards the response received in the past two months. With over 1,500 pet owners already making use of this system, it has proved to be a convenient and effective way to streamline the pet registration process. A stark contrast to the traditional offline mode, which only recorded 3,500 registrations to date.

As the PMC continues to roll out this initiative, Dr. Funde encourages pet owners to follow the necessary registration process. The registration process requires a residential proof document along with a NOC, passport-sized photos of the pet, showcasing the front, left, and right view, and photocopies of the pet’s vaccination certificate.

To access this service, an annual fee of Rs 50/- is to be paid. It is important to note that if a pet owner has more than one pet, each one will have to be registered individually. All documents should be self-attested and no larger than 2MB, with acceptable document formats being jpg, jpeg, png, and pdf.
