Pune: PMC’s Fire Brigade Personnel Injured After Tree Branch Falls On Him During Operation To Remove Uprooted Tree In Kothrud
Kothrud 232rd Oct 20323: In a distressing incident reported in Kothrud on Sunday morning, a 57-year-old fireman from the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Fire Brigade Department was injured when a branch of massive Gulmohar tree fell on him during an operation. The fireman has been identified as Rajesh Shridhar Kulkarni and the incident occurred at 5:15 am. Rajesh has been taken to hospital for treatment as he sustained injuries to his eye.
The fire brigade team had received a call regarding uprooting of a tree in the area and the team from Kothrud fire station was rushed to the spot. Upon arrival, the fire brigade team began clearing the fallen tree to open the blocked roads. Tragically, during the process, a tree branch struck Kulkarni’s face, resulting in severe eye injuries. His colleagues acted promptly, providing initial first aid and called for an ambulance to rush him to hospital for treatment.

Kulkarni was swiftly transported to Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital, where he is currently undergoing medical.
