Pune: PMC To Begin Property Tax Bill Delivery From May 15
Pune, 27th April 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that property tax bills, which were delayed for one and a half months due to the awaited government notification on the 40% tax discount for self-occupied houses, will be delivered on May 15.
The deadline for taxpayers to receive a 10% discount for on-time payments has also been extended until July 15.
PMC officials have submitted a request to the standing committee to extend the deadline and begin distributing the bills. The government notification stated that properties registered after 2019 that did not receive the 40% reduction will be evaluated and given the discount starting on April 1, 2023, potentially causing PMC to lose out on estimated revenue of Rs 401 crore.
The delay in bill distribution has been attributed to the government notification and is expected to affect thousands of property owners in the city. The PMC is urging taxpayers to take advantage of the extended deadline and ensure timely payment to avoid any penalties.
