Pune: PMC Recovers Rs 1.23 Lakh Fine From People For Spitting On Newly Painted Roads And Walls; Makes Them Clean Too

Pune, 12th January 2023: G-20 conference will be held on 16th and 17th January 2023 in Pune city. Representatives of 35 countries will attend this Conference. Pursuant to the said meeting, all the roads in the city are being cleaned and beautified through the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

But it is being noticed that citizens are spitting on wall paintings and beautified places. Therefore, a special team has been formed under all ward offices to take action.

A total of 23 cases and a fine of Rs 23,000 were recovered on 10th January against this backdrop through this special team. On 11th January, a total of 29 cases and a fine of Rs 29,000 was recovered. A total of 71 cases on 12th January and Rs 71,000 were recovered, and till now, a total of 123 cases and Rs 1,23,000 has been recovered as a fine.

Citizens who show an inability to pay the fine amount are told to clean their spit as a punishment. All the citizens should note that to maintain the public cleanliness and health of the city, if the citizens defecate or spit in public places, punitive action will be taken by the Pune Municipal Corporation.
