Pune: PMC Demolishes Unauthorized Construction at Elrow Pub in Kalyani Nagar

Kalyani Nagar, 14th December 2023: In a decisive move, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) executed the demolition of unauthorized construction spanning approximately 14,000 square feet at Elrow pub in Kalyani Nagar today.
The PMC issued a notice on 02/08/2022, invoking Section 53 of the MRTP Act 1966, pointing to unauthorized construction on the terrace of Hotel Elrow. Despite the notice, the concerned party failed to respond, leading to the enforcement of action on the illicit construction.
The operation involved the deployment of 6 gas cutters, 12 gas cutters, and 8 Maharashtra Security Force personnel, along with additional police personnel, to dismantle the unauthorized structure. Executive Engineer Ajit Surve provided guidance during the operation, with Inspector Vishnu Taurashree, Pankaj Donde, and Draftsman Yogesh Gurav in attendance.
This marks the second instance of enforcement at this location, and legal proceedings under Section 43 of the MRTP Act 1966 are currently underway.
