Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad RTO Sees Surge in Vehicle Registrations During Gudi Padwa

Pimpri Chinchwad, 11th April 2024: During the nine days from April 1 to 9, 2024, coinciding with the festival of Gudi Padwa, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Sub-Regional Transport Office (RTO) registered 5,588 vehicles. This resulted in a revenue of ₹37 crore 40 lakh 26 thousand for the RTO.

It is customary to buy houses, gold, and vehicles on the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa. Many individuals prefer to purchase vehicles on this day, leading to an increase in vehicle registrations during the festival period. The RTO registered over five thousand vehicles, with the majority being two-wheelers (3,044) and 1,835 cars. In addition, citizens also purchased 175 e-vehicles. Deputy Regional Officer Atul Aade provided further details, mentioning that the purchases included 135 two-wheelers, 35 cars, and 5 other types of vehicles.

Vehicle dealers offered various attractive schemes to entice customers to purchase vehicles. These promotions included free helmets and accessories with two-wheeler purchases, aimed at attracting customers and boosting sales during the festival.
