Pune, 7th November 2023: Pimpri-Chinchwad is set to host Maharashtra’s largest horse and native cattle exhibition, advocating for the crucial cause of cattle conservation. This event presents a unique opportunity for animal keepers across Maharashtra to actively participate in this noteworthy initiative.

Scheduled on November 25 and November 26 at the International Industrial Exhibition Center in Moshi, the Grand Indigenous Cattle Exhibition and Cattle Health Camp will commemorate the birthday of MLA Mahesh Landge. Known for his successful efforts in lifting the ban on bullock cart racing, MLA Mahesh Landge’s birthday marks a significant occasion for the All India Bullock Cart Association to showcase their initiative.

This pioneering domestic cattle show will feature all breeds of horses and cattle, including a ‘Ramp Walk’ featuring 17 types of animals, accompanied by a comprehensive health camp. The event will host breed-wise competitions for various cattle breeds such as Devni, Khillar, Lal Kandhari, Sahiwal, Lal Sindhi, Gir, Ongole, and Vechur. Prizes for first, second, and third places will be awarded in the competition. A unique ‘ramp walk’ for cattle, a first in India, aims to convey the message of cow conservation at the grassroots level.

The organizers encourage the participation of students from government and non-government schools in Pune district, emphasizing the importance of cow breeding for future generations. Last year’s Khillar show witnessed the participation of over 250 cattle, and this year’s exhibition anticipates the involvement of around 1,500 animals representing various indigenous species.
