Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Raid Uncovers Illegal Gas Operation in Alandi; 59 Cylinders Seized, One Arrested
Alandi, 28th November 2023: The Anti-Extortion Squad, under the directives of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey, conducted a raid in the Alandi area, seizing 59 illegal gas cylinders and arresting one person.
Acting on credible information, the squad, led by Senior Police Inspector Arvind Pawar, conducted a two-hour search operation at a location on Alandi – Markal Road. The raid uncovered an illegal gas refilling operation in a paper room, leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old individual named Sandeep Narsingh Landge.
The confiscated items included eight household cylinders, one commercial cylinder, 13 small gas-filled cylinders, 37 empty small cylinders, five brass refiller nozzles, and two gas refilling circuits. The seized material was valued at 62,800.
A case has been registered at Alandi police station against Sandeep Landge under various sections of the Indian Penal Codes 420, 285, 286 and the Explosive Substances Act 1908 Amendment Act 2001.
