Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Firefighters Prevent Major Mishap at Suvarna Fiber Company
Bhosari, 11th July 2024: A fire broke out in Pimpri Chinchwad yesterday around 11:30 PM. Firefighters quickly removed two LPG cylinders and 50 drums of flammable chemicals, averting a major mishap. The fire broke out on the second and third floors of Suvarna Fiber Company in Bhosari, in front of DY Patil Medical College.
As soon as information about the incident was received, a total of nine fire brigades from Chikhali, Pradhikaran, Talawade, Moshi, and Bhosari sub-stations, along with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Main Fire Station, reached the spot.
The company has iron sheet sheds on the second and third floors. The fiber material and machinery kept there caught fire. The firefighters brought the fire under control by pouring water. Meanwhile, two LPG cylinders were safely removed from the company’s kitchen. Additionally, around 50 drums of flammable chemicals used in fiber plastics were promptly evacuated, preventing a major accident. There were no casualties, but the company suffered significant financial loss.
