Pune: PCMC Launches Comprehensive Property Survey For Enhanced Tax Collection

Pimpri, 8th November 2023: In a significant move to enhance property tax collection and digital services, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has initiated a comprehensive survey of all properties within its jurisdiction.

The survey, being carried out in collaboration with Construction Consultants Pvt Ltd, will bring unassessed properties under the tax assessment function and provide citizens with several benefits.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has directed all Municipal Corporations in the country to issue UPIC (Unique Property Identification Code) IDs to properties within their limits. As part of this initiative, each property within the survey will receive a unique number and a UPIC ID. These measures are expected to bring several advantages to residents.

1) Streamlined Services: The allocation of UPIC IDs to properties will enable better coordination between Municipal services and various government departments.

2) Digital Documentation: Citizens will have the option to securely store essential property-related documents in a Property Locker, similar to Digi Locker. This system will grant easy access to property information with a single click.

3) Accurate Data: The survey will ensure precise measurements and updated property information and addresses.

4) Enhanced Trust: By increasing the trustworthiness of property information, the survey will facilitate buying and selling transactions.

5) Tax Stability: Properties that have already been taxed in the survey and have received property tax bills will not face any further tax increases.

6) Digital Privacy: Citizen’s digital privacy will be safeguarded, with the choice to share or withhold their documents from the Municipal Corporation.
