Pune: PCMC Announces Water Supply Disruption Due to Power Outage in Multiple Areas
Pimpri Chinchwad, 7th August 2024: Water supply has been disrupted in Charholi, Moshi, Dudulgaon, Chovisawadi, Wadmukhwadi, Dehu-Alandi Road, Borhadewadi, Chakrapani Vasahat, Akshay Nagar, and Indrayani Nagar areas due to a power outage at the Pumping Station, which draws water from the Nighoje embankment. Hence, the water supply in these areas will be at low pressure tonight and tomorrow morning.
The power supply to the Pumping Station, managed by the Water Supply Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), has been down since 2:30 a.m. today. This has halted the water supply to the PCMC Water Treatment Plant in Chikhali, affecting the aforementioned areas.
PCMC has appealed to citizens to use water sparingly during this period. Given the rainy season, there is a heightened risk of waterborne diseases. Therefore, PCMC advises filtering and boiling drinking water as a precaution. PCMC is taking necessary measures to ensure the provision of clean and safe water to all residents.
