Pune: Parth Pawar Inspects Flood-Affected Areas in Pimpri-Chinchwad Amid Heavy Rains

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 5th August 2024: Following days of torrential rains, Pimpri-Chinchwad has been hit by severe flooding, exacerbated yesterday by the release of water from the Pawana Dam into the Pawana River, which flows through the city. Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, conducted an inspection of the flood-affected areas. He interacted with the affected families and addressed their concerns as river water inundated numerous homes.

Pimpri-Chinchwad, along with the Lonavala and Maval regions, has been experiencing heavy rainfall since yesterday. The release of 8,000 cusecs of water from the Pawana Dam has led to the flooding of the Pawana River, affecting areas along its banks. Accompanied by Pimpri MLA Anna Bansode and local activists, Parth Pawar reviewed the situation today. His inspection and engagement with the flood victims in Pimpri-Chinchwad have prompted widespread discussion.
