Pune: Over 31,000 New Voters Registered During Special Camps In 442 colleges

Pune, 2nd December 2022: A special camp was organized simultaneously in 442 colleges on November 25 for new voter registration in Pune city and district. As many as 31,647 new voters were registered in this special camp.

 

The draft voter list based on the eligible date of January 1 2023, has been recently released in the district. Accordingly, the total number of voters in the city and district has increased to 78,76,950. At present, a special brief revision program of the Electoral Roll is underway. Claims and objections will be accepted by December 8. The district has numerous prospective voters above 17 years of age and eligible youth above 18 years of age. Therefore, special camps were organized for voter registration in 442 colleges under 21 assembly constituencies of the city and district. In this special camp, as many as 31,647 youths were registered as voters by filling the application form number six.

Meanwhile, a special camp will be organized in the colleges of the district on December 5 for the new voters who have not yet registered themselves. All eligible freshers will get an opportunity to enrol in the special camp in the college. Collector and District Election Officer, Rajesh Deshmukh, appeals to the new voters to take advantage of this opportunity to include their names in the voter list
