Pune: Officials From Four Ward Offices Transferred By PMC For Inaction Against Illegal Flex

Pune 20th Oct 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation has started taking strict action against its officials for not taking action against illegal flex installed in the city. According to reports, four inspectors have been transferred out from the sky sign department of the municipal corporation after they failed to take action against illegal flexes.

This comes after the officials were instructed to strictly remove the illegal advertisement banners, flex from their jurisdictions and take appropriate action. However, the seniors found some officers neglecting the warnings and the illegal flex were still visible in their jurisdiction following which the action was initiated. According to sources, the action was taken against officers responsible from Yerawada, Kothrud, Tilak Road and Sinhagad Road ward offices.

It may be noted that the municipal commissioner in the past had also initiated action against the officers for not taking action against the illegal hoardings. The official data reveals that the civic body has removed over 13 lakh illegal advertising material including banners, hoardings, posters and flex etc. in the last five years and a fine of over Rs 30 lakh has been recovered from defaulters.
