Hadapsar, 14th April 2023: While developing the Hadapsar Terminal, the railway administration will extend two stabling lines at the station directly to the Ghorpadi coaching depot. Therefore, the number of trains departing from Hadapsar Terminal in the coming years will increase. Apart from this, the train will directly go to Ghorpadi yard without going to Pune station for repair.

To reduce the pressure on the Pune station, the railway administration has emphasized the development of the Hadapsar Terminal. Various works have been carried out at the terminal for the last 1.5 years. About Rs 135 crores of funds have been sanctioned for Hadapsar Terminal, of which Rs 40 crores have been used.

To increase the railway traffic from Hadapsar, it is necessary to provide infrastructure facilities like a stabling line, pit line, loop line, etc along with increasing the passenger facilities. In this regard, the railway administration has decided to expand two stabling lines.

The length of the two stabling lines to be constructed at Hadapsar Terminal is about 590 meters, with an expected cost of Rs ten crore. Presently five stabling lines and five-peat lines have been constructed at Ghorpadi Coach Maintenance Complex (GCMC).
