Pune: Now Builder Vishal Agarwal and Father SK Agarwal Booked for Abetting Suicide

Pune, 7th June 2024: The Chandannagar police have booked builder Vishal Agarwal, his father SK Agarwal, and others on charges of abetting the suicide of a building contractor from Wadgaonsheri. The incident occurred over a monetary dispute, four months after the victim ended his life on January 9, 2024.

 

The accused builder is currently in the custody of the Pune police crime branch in connection with the May 19 Porsche car crash case. His father, who was arrested in the abduction case of their family driver, is in judicial custody at Yerawada Central Jail.

 

A police officer informed, “The 42-year-old victim, Shashikant Katore, ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence. In a suicide note, he held his friend responsible for his death.”

 

An FIR related to the abetment of suicide was registered against his friend Vinay Vishnupant Kale under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code on January 12. The victim’s friend later obtained anticipatory bail from the district and sessions court, fearing arrest.

 

The victim’s 69-year-old father filed a complaint application holding the builder, his father, and others responsible for abetting his son’s suicide over a monetary dispute.

 

Now the case is expected to be transferred to the crime branch for further action.
